Titles and Descriptions of Episodes in different languages or missing

Almost giving up… Was showing this way after first adding to Plex. Removed it. Cleared trash, cleaned bundles, optimized database and re-added series again. The same. Tried again. No change.

tvdb is showing all and everything in German incl. all episode titles and description, but Plesk shows only one episode in German incl. German description, almost all other episodes with French title and no description and some without anything.

Edit the show as a whole ( not the season or individual episodes) . look under advanced and see what metadata language is set for it.

If they are MP4s possibly they have embedded metadata overriding online data if you have Prefer Local Metadata set for library

There seem to be two versions of this show which we’re merging together:

I’m not entirely sure if these are supposed to be the same show in different languages or if they’re entirely different, I’ll investigate a bit.

Update: from what I can make out it’s clearly the same franchise but the episodes can differ between the French and German produced versions.

The issue seems to be that the version on TMDB is for the French one and was linked to the German TVDB entry. I’ve changed that to link to the French TVDB one now so hopefully that should fix the problem in the next day or two.

Thanks a lot for all the work.

Tested it yesterday and today. No change. Still French. Tried to unmatch and match again. No change. When matching it only ONE series is showing. Not the French one.

You are right. Plex is using the French version as only 49 episodes get a (French) title. The “regular” version has 52 episodes.

I’ve fixed it on the TMDB end but there is a bug on our end too which I’ve asked somebody to take a look at.
