Server Version#: N/A
Player Version#: 1.87 (web version 4.124.1)
I can’t say when this started, but I’ve noticed the desktop player refreshing/flashing the screen over and over again when in the home screen. Normally this wouldn’t be a problem, but I tend to create and edit playlists on the fly to cast to a bigger screen. Each time this refresh happens, playback stops on the connected player (which in this case is the Xbox player).
After this happened a number of times, I tried to open the web player to control and edit the playlist from there and again it turned out that it too was refreshing repeatedly at semi regular intervals. Again, when the refresh happens it stops playback on any connected device.
RIght now I’ve resorted to saving the playlist and disconnecting the desktop/web player from the bigger screen instead of making it on the fly. I don’t know if anyone else is having the same problem.
Disable all scanning of library fixes it temporarily until they can patch it. Check other posts, there’s about 8 of them now. They said Monday but there’s no work on Monday.
Thanks, I’ll look into this. By all scanning do you mean both the automatic scanning AND the periodic scanning?
[Edit after several hours] I disabled all scanning, periodic and on demand and aside from forgetting that my library wouldn’t auto update when I added some media, there has been no problem. I wait for the fix and then re-enable the scanning.
Any update on this issue. I run playback mainly on the Nvidia Shield and is almost unusable. I don’t want or consider neutering features of my server as a viable solution.
I had forgotten about this issue. I had been manually updating my library for some time and then re-enabled auto scan and it now works without interruption.
