Playback stops while watching movie

Hi, whenever I’m watching a movie (this may also be happening with TV shows have not watched a show to test), the playback fully errors out with a pop-up window. This is the pop-up window.

Any idea what could be the cause? This also happens with other movies. I have attached the logs, thanks in advance.

There are a dozen or so threads now on the same topic.

All after the recent server update it seems.

Yet to see an actual solution. Perhaps a database corruption.

Hopefully a Ninja or Plex employee can merge them all together.

I have not seen the issue myself yet but it is quite widespread.

getting the same here.

seems that any background scan is causing the app’s web page to refresh causing playback to stop. have seen it a few times on the Home page after giving up watching Live TV since the app updated today - screen just redraws.

I am getting same thing. Live TV as well as remote play of movies, just starts and stops constantly. This started around 2 updates ago. Just installed latest update today and did not fix the issue.

I tried this and still having issues.

installing the previous version is the temp fix, for now:

I ended up reverting back to 2 previous versions (1.32.0.6918). I am now able to watch remotely without issues. Definitely something in there last two releases that caused this.

Hey all, I’m having the same issue, but I narrowed it down to only occurring when using the Plex Web App via a browser or the Plex windows app.

Workaround:
I found that when using the Plex HTPC for Windows or through the iOS or andriod apps I do not have this issue. This is player specific from what I’ve found. Either way, super annoying when I have it open and am sitting on the home screen.

I ended up reverting back two versions to 1.32.0.6918 and all is back to normal. No issues again. Something in these last two versions has caused all my issues.
