Did the beta get skipped over?

With version 5.0 rolling out now, did the beta get skipped over, or did I miss a build or something?

Should I be downloading version 5 from the App Store? I’m currently on build 13847 which came out a month ago (and it doesn’t look anything like version 5.0)

Thanks for any insight.

With version 5.0 rolling out now, did the beta get skipped ove

It was - please hold on and a new beta will be available very soon

Was just about to post the same topic

Glad to hear we’ve not been completely forgotten - I am so used to using the Beta version I could not work out why I did not have the Podcasts capability.

I actually haven’t received a buddybuild email in sometime. If I try downloading the beta I get an error. So want to confirm I’m still on the iOS beta team?

I can see that your plex.tv is marked as having access to the iOS Beta program. If you have issues suggest raising a separate topic for that

This is bull crap. You all at Plex knew beta testers were going to raise hell over this abomination you have released, so the biggest change to the app in years was not released to the beta testers at all, you simply just rammed this piece of crap down our throats.

What’s the point of having beta testers?

Do you have any execs with two fingers of brains try to use this thing?

The beta program is used to provide users a peak and early access to features. However, not all features will go through beta testing. And being in the beta program does not guarantee you will see all features first.

So the betas aren’t for testing and feedback, it’s just a bonus for Plex Pass users?

This begs the question, is there any external testing done outside of Plex employees?

For some features yes.

Yes.

And you don’t see that being a problem?

Then stop calling it a “beta” and call it a 'Preview" a beta implies that we are testing and that bugs and other feedback are taken into account.

Player betas of mobile apps are not restricted to Plex Pass users. We do appreciate testing and feedback on those betas by anyone who chooses to use them.

Brand new never released features (such as the interface, and other features before it) will not always make it in a public beta.

So you’re not fully testing never released features before they are publicly released. Ignoring an opportunity to get customer feedback and make sure everything is well tested before a product is released. How does that make any logical sense at all. There are much larger companies than Plex doing public betas because they have come to understand the importance of doing that. What makes Plex so different?
