Different version in "Web Client—General" when accessing with local IP vs plex.tv?!

Server Version#: 1.6.5.1554
Player Version#: Locally: Version 3.108.2 | plex.tv: Version 4.4.1

When I go in Settings, Generals, when using local network IP to access my Plex Web Player, I see version 3.108.2, then, when I use plex.tv to access it, I see version 4.4.1. What’s the problem guys? I have latest version package installed on my Debian server, 1.6.5.1554-amd64. Other things, GUI appearance and layout not the same either… It is really, really weird…

Anyone have a guess what is happening?

it’s normal.

the plex.tv is hosted by plex and is updated constantly.

the web UI on your local server is updated much more slowly and only when you update the actual server version.

I update plexmediaserver as soon as new update shows in my Debian Plex’s repository. So I am up to date?!

The one that comes with the server which you access via direct IP address will almost always be an earlier version. At times can be several server versions before it is updated with the newest. The server release notes will state if it has been updated Plex Media Server

The UNO version of Web app 4.x is pretty new so it will be a bit before it is updated to the server.
