I know this is both a minor issue and something easy to do, but when setting a language on a Library, you have “Portuguese” as an option, but it does not differentiate between Portuguese and Brazilian Portuguese. The thing is that some movies have different names in Portugal and Brazil, and this sometimes confuses. I noticed this when I added “The Good Dinosaur” to my kids Library. In Brazil the movie name is a direct translation “O Bom Dinossauro” while in Portugal it was name “A Viagem de Arlo” (Arlo’s Voyage or something to that effect). And when probing The Movie Database, Plex is retrieving the name from Portugal’s Portuguese instead of Brazilian Portuguese.
I really like Plex, I’ve been using it for several years, but let’s face it: it’s very frustrating not to have the “Portuguese Brazil” language option in the movie Agents and consequently in the titles of the movies. We only have titles in English or European Portuguese, which are usually very different. It’s sad.
Yes - I just noticed this. I’ve been editing some series on thetvdb.com and the website has both Portuguese - Brazilian (PT) and Portuguese - Portugal (POR) sections. Plex, on the other hand, only searches for POR information.
I’ve been adding information to the Portuguese - Brazilian section of the website and nothing shows up on Plex. Took me a couple hours, but I finally noticed that Plex only searches for Portuguese - Portugal (POR) information, which ultimately just makes the thetvdb.com database be incorrect, as Brazilians are adding the Portuguese - Brazilian (PT) information into the Portuguese - Portugal (POR) sections.
Please add the distinction to the plugin and make it native.
I am from Portugal and I face the same issues. I usually download pt and pt-br subtitles from Bazarr (in case one of the languages is not available) and if both are downloaded it appears “Portuguese (External SRT) for both”.
Also the poster name and movie name is different (one from pt and the other from pt-br).
