Are there any versions of digital TV shows that can be used on Plex?
I usually purchased TV Season that came with Digital codes, but I’d like to move away from physical media that just sits on a shelf.
Honestly If any of these services let me “shuffle” an entire series, I would switch in a heartbeat, but Plex and BD Rips are currently my only option.
Does iTunes or anyone else allow me to download episodes to my computer and move them to Plex (possibly with some DRM removing)?
Plex does not play DRM protected media.
There are applications that claim they can remove iTunes, UltraViolet, etc DRM. I’ve never tried them, so cannot say if they work or not. You can search for “iTunes DRM removal” or similar to find them.
That’s what I’ve been searching for, i’ve Only found iTunes drm removers running about $35-$45. Haven’t found anything for UV. Might have to start buying tv shows on iTunes in the future.
Take a look at Movies Anywhere.
It syncs your content among multiple services - iTunes, Vudu, Google Play, etc.
You can watch your purchases on any service, even if purchased on another.
So, in theory, if you purchased a movie on Google Play, you could access it via iTunes, possibly even downloading a DRM version to your PC/Mac. You could then use one of the DRM removal programs to unlock the movie.
Edit / Followup: Don’t see a way to get UV movies into Movies Anywhere.
UV links to Vudu and Fandango Now. I can stream UV movies via Vudu & Fandango Now.
Both Vudu & Fandango Now link into Movies Anywhere.
Movies I’ve purchased in iTunes, Google Play & Vudu all show up in Movies Anywhere and in the other services (Google purchases show up in iTunes & visa versa).
However, UV movies don’t show up in Movies Anywhere. So, guess that extra “hop” just won’t work for UV movies.
Yes i love movies anywhere, but i don’t mined using Vudu or MA or iTunes to watch movies, it’s the TV shows, and those did not transfer when MA came around.
BTW most, but not all UV show up in MA just need to link your vudu account.
TV Shows that i’ve Purchased on Vudu/UV is where i’m At a loss on how to get them over to Plex.
