I have anime on my server and I realized they all have different subtitle formats (ass, psg, srt etc.). I want to know how to see which ones are direct playing and which ones are not. When I look at activity, the display shows the audio track and video track direct play status, but the subtitle section just displays what subtitle type is being used, it doesn’t say direct play or anything to let me know whether subtitles are being transcoded or not. If anyone can help that would be appreciated, thank you.
If the subtitle requires transcoding it’ll be burned into the video… that means that the video is being re-encoded and it’ll display accordingly (video → transcoding)
Also, check out Tautulli. It’s status page shows if the subtitles are being burned into the video stream.
