Direct Play not working on WEB player

Hello,
I’m having difficulties with direct play on plex web player. The video always transcode which is a problem to me, because my server is only a raspberrypi 4 and although transcoding works, the quality is garbage.

The server is in my house with remote access enabled and working fine because I can direct play from my android zenfone 3 without any issues. my upload speed home(20mb up/down) and my office(200mb up/down)

So I’m wondering, why can’t my laptop direct play the same video while both client are in the same network(office), same quality configs (video quality maximum)

Please help, I did my best, but I guess my best wasn’t good enough.

Web browsers have limited capabilities. For example, they cannot direct play H.265 video.

Try using Plex for Windows/Mac, https://www.plex.tv/media-server-downloads/#plex-app. It is much more capable than Plex Web.

tried that already but plex app for windows constantly giving an unknown error -13 error code -13

Make sure you have the latest version. Version 1.4 was released yesterday (Announcement). Uninstall, install current version, then reboot, instead of installing over existing version (since it isn’t working correctly for you).

Alternately, try Plex Media Player, Plex Media Player download info. It is an older Windows/Mac client, but is still supported.

You can have both Plex for Windows/Mac and Plex Media Player installed at the same time on your PC. They install to different locations.
