Why are my videos being transcoded by Plex Web? and not using Direct Stream?

Kinda Buggy, but they’re working on it.
(Note: I am watching a recording with an MPEG-2 stream / AC3 2.0 audio on the New Player ATM and it is in Direct Play).
Still, for me, at this time, Plex Media Player is more stable.
Thanks using ‘Plex for Windows’ resolved the issue. I just want to make sure is ‘Plex for Windows’ the replacement for Plex Media Player which is being decommissioned?
Actually Plex Media Player has been given a pardon and will continue on it’s crime spree for a while, but yes, Plex for Windows is it’s replacement, or alter ego, or slightly challenged step brother…
Use the one what works best…
(PMP has some pretty awesome user settings - enter TV Mode to access these settings - then you can go back to ‘Plexweb’ view if you like.
Yes with the original Plex Media Player I had to enter TV mode and change to OpenGL then back to Desktop to fix stuttering that I was experiencing. I hope the new software has this feature.
You know - that is info that very well may help others experiencing the hydaulic-jerks with Plex for Windows… if they ever get that setting hammered into it.
Handy with the settings I see… well… you’ll be fine.
