Your browser has no ability to Direct Play an MPEG-2 stream - or AC3 5.1.

Try this instead:

Here’s the New Player for Windows:
https://www.plex.tv/media-server-downloads/?_ga=2.116220037.2046312671.1561485849-1864473727.1455657109#plex-app

Kinda Buggy, but they’re working on it.
(Note: I am watching a recording with an MPEG-2 stream / AC3 2.0 audio on the New Player ATM and it is in Direct Play).

atest

Still, for me, at this time, Plex Media Player is more stable.

Thanks using ‘Plex for Windows’ resolved the issue. I just want to make sure is ‘Plex for Windows’ the replacement for Plex Media Player which is being decommissioned?

Actually Plex Media Player has been given a pardon and will continue on it’s crime spree for a while, but yes, Plex for Windows is it’s replacement, or alter ego, or slightly challenged step brother…

Use the one what works best…
(PMP has some pretty awesome user settings - enter TV Mode to access these settings - then you can go back to ‘Plexweb’ view if you like.

Yes with the original Plex Media Player I had to enter TV mode and change to OpenGL then back to Desktop to fix stuttering that I was experiencing. I hope the new software has this feature.

You know - that is info that very well may help others experiencing the hydaulic-jerks with Plex for Windows… if they ever get that setting hammered into it.

Handy with the settings I see… well… you’ll be fine.

now you scare me haha guess I’ll wait till D day to switch and hope the feature is available.

Thanks for ya help

Well, you have them both so you can test drive the new one to see how it does, over time. Keep it updated.

Here is “The Suit” ordering the Governor to unstrap PMP from the table:

Bonnie Parker picked PMP up at the prison gates in a Ford V-8 and they rode off into the sunset. Stay tuned for the sequel, but it’s all good for now.
