Direct Play video files with EAC3 5.1 stutter since Plex for Mac 1.34

Since upgrading to Plex for Mac 1.35 with the fancy new lay-out, I’ve been experiencing video playback lags with (E)AC3 audio codecs. Every second or so the video clips for a split second. It’s just noticable enough to be distracting.

I’ve tried different audio outputs and video playback settings to no avail.
DTS/AAC play fine. Same video files play fine on VLC.

EDIT: I’ve rolled back to 1.34 and encountered even more stutter.
On 1.33 everything plays flawless. Could this have something to do with the implemented GPU Renderer? Thus far I haven’t found an option to disable that.

Issue still not resolved. Any suggestions?
