Direct play way higher?

Plex Version: 1.15.8.1163
Plex running on: Synology DS218+
Download Speed: 516.45 (from speedtest.net)
Upload Speed: 40.50 (from speedtest.net)
Tried Direct Playing on: Huawei P20 Pro / Ipad (idk which version but I know it supports x265 and if it didn’t the dashboard wouldve said “transcoding”)

When I (locally) direct play a x265 9,1mbps movie, the dashboard says it needs 19mbps… but why? I know about the bursts but they don’t display it there, only on the bandwith graph, right?? So why is my direct play so much higher than the original? (I just tested and its the same for an x264 file)

Edit: this is a problem because when I’m not home and I wanna watch something my internet bundle will literally die.

Edit 2: the dashboard says its direct playing

Look at the Plex XML info of that movie.
You will see requiredBandwidths=" for each track and for the file as a whole.
If you are Direct Playing, only the numbers for the file as a whole are interesting.

The first number is the required bandwidth in the worst case, if your Plex client has only a tiny network buffer.
The various numbers are the required Direct Play bitrate for 5,10,25,50,75,100,250,500MB network buffer sizes.
