I have no idea why this forced transcoding for me, maybe it has to do with HDR to SDR conversion, since plex doesen’t support that on Xbox yet? (c’mon? )
But after enabling HW transcoding everything plays flawlessly (in SDR). Tested with both Atmos audio and DTS
Tested with:
Xeon E3 1235L-V5
GT 1030
Xbox One X

Interesting, and the colors don’t seem washed out to you? I’ve got hardware acceleration enabled and the colors look washed out for me when forcing a transcode (although it doesn’t actually transcode to 1080p, it just plays at 4k). Sadly I’m only testing on an Xbox One not an S or X. It would be interesting to know though if it does work (with proper colors) on the X, but not on the original or S.
