Hi, any way to disable mediakeys on Windows? It really breaks my workflow when having a music player open at the same time as Plex, I never want Plex to start playing because of the media keys, especially when its just a video paused in the background. It would be a complete solution for me just to have an option to disable those keys interacting with Plex.
Thanks!
I’d like to know as well. Following.

Expecting the app which most recently played media to respond to media keys regardless of the media playback state in the Plex for Windows app sounds logical. I wonder what we’re doing that causes the overbearing behavior.
Looking around, I think this is the same issue too Plex for Windows hijacks media controls when not the active window · Issue #979 · plexinc/plex-media-player · GitHub?
I’ll look into this over the next couple weeks, media keys should feel natural.
Awesome, thanks :). For me it would be enough to just have an option to disable the media keys. I only use Plex for Windows for Videos, so I don’t have the need to control it when it’s not in view.
I came here to RAGE AND SCREAM AND CRY AND RAWRRRR. Because plex keep stealing media keys. Even when minimized and not having anythign set to play ! PAIN EVIL ! But then I saw the post above with reference to github… and now I wonder… did ya all open sorce the Player? ■■■■ YEA. ■■■■ u all. Ima make my own fixes now! :- D
