Please help. I have purchased “Plex pass” and it has just informed me without even asking me if I want to do that that it had turned on PIN on the account and disabled DLNA. I have managed to turn on DLNA again but I cannot find the place where can I disable PIN verification.
The browser is on a touchscreen without a keyboard and this change made my plex installation useless.
I am going round and round in circles and I cannot find the option to disable / remove / get rid of completely this PIN security.
Is the only way to do this to quit the subscription? My problem is that I have purchased lifetime subscription. If removing the subscription is the only way to remove the PIN - how should I contact Plex regarding money back? This is silly because PLEX was working for me very good. I have paid for the subscription to honor the company and what I got had ruined my experience.
The reason is: what good is Plex Home with its access restrictions if you can simply fire up a DLNA client to have full access to all the content?
DLNA doesn’t support any form of user authentication, so the only way is to turn it off if you want to use Plex Home as a way to protect your kids from unsuitable content.
If you want to remove the pin, just do so on the User page: https://app.plex.tv/desktop#!/settings/users
Each user who is showing a green ‘padlock’, has a PIN set. Click on the padlock to remove or change the PIN.
thanks for the confirmation - prompted me to try another browser and voila! there’s the Remove button. Couldn’t see it in Firefox, but just completed the Remove in Edge. Thanks!
