I’m wondering whether there is a way to entirely disable Web App on a self-hosted plex media server (Debian 11).
The reason is that this server is deployed on public IP address so that anyone can reach it over the internet. Of course, they wouldn’t get access to my content, but they still can log in and use my setup as an entry-point, just like plex.tv.
Even if this is possible, there is no reason for anyone to actually do this.
If one loads the web app from your server, it is usually outdated when compared to the publicly available version on https://app.plex.tv
Loading the web app from your server won’t grant any access to the media content on your server, nor access to any data in your plex account – unless you are logged in to a plex account which has been given access to your server. And that is something over which you have full control, under https://app.plex.tv/desktop/#!/settings/users-sharing
