Making Plex on my VPS more secure

Server Version#: 1.31.0.6654
Player Version#: ?

Hey, I’m running Plex Media Server on my VPS currently.
This basically means that when I access myvpspublichostname.domain.tld:32400, you can get into the plex web ui.

Is it possible to make it so that plex wont display the ui when connecting via a specific ip and hostname (for example the public ip/hostname), but it would load up when connecting via app.plex.tv or a different ip/hostname, for example localhost (ssh tunnel for context) or my tailscale ip?

No you don’t.
You’d get the web app when accessing myvpspublichostname.domain.tld:32400/web

But then, so what?
You may get the web app loaded into your web browser, but you don’t get any of the media content – unless you are logged into a Plex account which has been explicitly granted access to these media.

Ohh okay, I forgot how plex authentication worked, as i havent used it in a while. my bad :stuck_out_tongue:
