Searched a bit but I can’t seem to find a topic on this, apologies if it’s been asked a million times.
Sometimes it’s great using my Xbox controller on my PC to navigate the media player. But when Plex isn’t focused, I can’t do anything with the controller or it starts doing things in Plex.
Ideally I’d love to play a game with my controller, and have Plex just on the second monitor, not being controlled by the controller.
you have to modify the keymap files to remove the xbox controller refrences, then it works fine. but you will not be able to control plex with the controller even when focused. this isn’t an issue for me as I use a remote to control plex.
but you could make two copies of the xml files and then swap them in and out with a batch file depending if you want to use the controller in plex or not
Well if someone wants to write a guide for this or something, I’d love it. But I don’t think I know enough about these types of things to be modifying xml files.
I mean I normally don’t use my controller for Plex either, but I’m not sure I would be able to modify files without causing issues.
Go to your user folder -> local -> inputmaps, in the examples folder there should be a Xbox-controller-windows file, you’ll want to copy that and paste it in the folder above(put it inside the input maps folder).
Once you’ve done this open it with notepad ++ or whatever program you use and delete everything from line 6 to line 75 and then save it, should work fine now.
