I have quite a few friends using my server and I just notices that one of the shows is creating optimized versions in the conversions but I never selected any files to optimize. I think one of my shared users is optimizing it. How can I disallow users from doing this? This could become a nightmare with space and CPU usage.
Shared users are not able to optimize.
However, they are able to stream transcoded.
Plus, if you granted that user the privilege, s/he can also sync/download (which sometimes causes transcoding as well, depending on the quality settings for the download).
It is probably the download option. Looks like I am going to have to turn that off.
