, I am also having exactly the same problem with the same error., thumbnails are working fine to show pictures but when clicked on the full size JPEGs do not appear…
Everything works fine viewing on my phone, on other desktops and other systems it’s just the LG TV which does not work

Any NEW info on this topic, having exact same issue on LG OLED65C3AUA using MyCloud EX to serve the media. Songs and playlist seem to work OK (in PLEX) but Photos will only show the thumbnails and when attempting to view the full size photo or slideshow the error message is generated.
Couple other points of interest:
- When using the native LG media app the photos are rendered properly (Would prefer PLEX especially since I paid for Plex Pass)
- Native LG media app is not as clean as Plex and does not seem to like already created playlist for music
- Other TVs and computers are working properly including Apple TV devices
With latest WebOS Version 03.30.71 it seems to work on my LG C3. 
I updated today.
Encouraging news…looks like I’m still on 03.30.70 hopefully in an update queue as I checked for updates and the system returned message, no updates available….we wait.

Update, although my software is a digit different than previous poster. The system seems ti be working as per normal again. Photos are displaying properly.
after Plex client update for WebOS on version 5.77.1 all works like a charm! Thanx!
Hi, for me since version 03.30.71 of the LG WebOS I’ve been able to display my photos again on my G3 using Plex.
Unfortunately for me it is still not working, even with version 03.30.71
Hi, since the LG webos 13.30.55 Update i had the same problem (thumbnails are working fine to show pictures but when clicked on the full size JPEGs do not appear). LG OLED55G29LA with PlexApp 5.80.
Is there any progress towards a solution yet?

Hi. Same problems since I’ve updated my LG tv with WebOS 23.
All worked fine before, photos and screensaver “entertainment” and now no full screen photos and a black screen when screensaver runs.
Everything is ok with Plex on the phone or tablet.
Please fix this 
Hi there. Finally found where the problem is !!!
You have to put The SECURED CONNEXIONS ajustement on OBLIGATORY and it works again. Look at the screenshot and enjoy

Hi, unfortunately that doesn’t work for me either. So far my server is only running locally. I released it for testing via reverse proxy and provided a valid SSL certificate. Then set the connection to secure connections required. Then it works again on all my clients except the LG TV.

Sorry about that. One more detail I changed but I don’t know if it can be ok for you : Preferred network interface running on ethernet and not wifi (since my wifi address often changes )

I was able to solve the problem by issuing a valid SSL certificate from the local Plex server.

Then I set “preferred” in the server settings /network/secure connections.
I then set “secure connections” to “always” in the PlexApp settings on the television. Afterwards, photo playback also works on the LG TV. I hope this helps you.
