DJ Software Integration for Plex music. Specifically with leading DJ software applications like rekordbox, Tracktor, dj pro, aerator etc.
Most of these apps will access you local files and apps like Apple Music, Soundcloud, Tidle, Beatport etc.
I tried downloading a playlist on my phone to see if the rekordbox app would recognise the downloaded files, under local files - it didn’t.
Would you mind elaborating your suggestion, e.g. what exact behavior would you like to see or what use case do you have in mind?
Sure I’ll edit the original comment
So… you want those apps to be able to access media from your libraries?
I guess that’s something that could be achieved by those DJ apps…
I can add some comments.
The absolute gold standard feature would be some kind of integration that allowed the DJ software to have access to streamed tracks as if they were in a local folder. Some of these apps do operate this way with specific streaming services. I cannot see how this might be possible without coordinating with the DJ software maker, but some of them may have a nicely documented API, I don’t know.
The next best thing, still useful, would be to somehow make it so that media downloaded from Plex/Plexamp was visible to the software, as if you had made manual copies of those files into the DJ software media library. Now, the DJ software can be told what folder to look in, but it is going to expect to find music files with good tags, and not some proprietary/obfuscated format.
Lastly I think it is typical for these apps to add some of their own specialized tags to the media files, so that the next time you use a file it doesn’t have to re-analyze it. Obviously supporting that would be tough.
I just noticed there’s already an existing suggestion asking for the same feature. Please comment/vote in that thread in order to help us avoid distracting or cannibalizing votes.
Unless I’ve been missing some unique aspect of your suggest, I’ll close this thread as a duplicate.
