DLNA consuming 100% of cpu when idle

The plex-dna process on OSX High Sierra running Plex Version 1.13.4.5251 sometimes spins up until uses 100% of one of my cpus while no client is connected to the dlna server.

That happens often and intermittently and is very frustrating, since some videos I have are decoded poorly by the plex client but fine by the dlna player, so only way to watch them is using dlna.

Unfortunately I need to keep the dlna server off otherwise I’ll have a noisy fan resembling a small drone in my living room running 24/7, plus one core less.
