Hello all, not sure if this is a Plex issue, Mac issue or general networking issue, but even though my wired network and wifi networks are on the same subnet (192.168.0.X) if the device I’m trying to play on (Bigscreen on Quest 2) is on my wifi, it will not see my Plex DLNA device if my MacMini that’s hosting my Plex server is wired. It only works if I put my MacMini on wifi.
I’m sure I’m overlooking some simple setting in Plex, Mac networking settings or my router.
Sounds more like an issue with your router.
Could be the device is connected to a guest network or has some other restrictions (e.g. access profiles which don’t specifically allow DLNA related traffic).
Or your router might be treating WIFI and LAN as separate networks despite assigning the same subnet.
Mac-mini is wired, Quest def on my home wifi network. I’m going to guess your second suggestion might be correct. Been trying to google a solution but the terms are so general I’m not getting a solution. I might need to reach out to netgear support.
