Is it necessary to have Plex remote access enable to view Plex outside of my network?
I now using Plex Launch that I access online and launch. Before I used the Plex from my Synology
NAS. I don’t recall if I had the Plex on NAS remote access enable. Today I found two error on Plex Launch.
Limited Connection
Server Settings, Server Indirect
And I wondering if they came about since I just enable remote access a few days ago.
Without remote access enabled, your server cannot be accessed from outside your home network (remote = outside your home network). If you want to watch stuff outside your home network without enabling remote access, your only shot will be to download/sync media to your client.
As for limited/indirect connections… this implies there’s a problem with your remote access configuration that blocks Plex from establishing a direct connection between the client and your server.
