I need help connecting to one of my servers. It can be accessed from inside the house, but if attempting to access remotely it says the server is offline.
Have you configured your Plex Media Server to be accessible from outside your home network?
Yes I had to set up to be remotely accessed from outside the home. I’ve just ran into this issue a week ago. I work in another province and had been able to access it for the past year.
So remote access is still enabled in your server settings under Settings > [Server Name] > Remote Access?
Are you using the default configuration (using UPnP to allow Plex to automatically configure your router) or did you manually specify a port on your router and Plex to be used to access your Plex Media Server from outside your home network?
In order to identify if this is a general connectivity issue or specific to Plex… can you access your router / home network and the given public TCP port (32400 or the one you specified in the manual port forward) from outside your home network? You can test this using a service like canyouseeme.org
- if this is still working, the issue is probably within your home network, the device hosting the Plex Media Server or Plex itself
- if you cannot see/access your home network this way, there might be an issue with your router configuration or ISP
