Frequently, the “similar artists” fetched from online favor interpersonal connections between artists rather than musical similarity. This is fine in some cases, but in many cases, the connections can feel quite specious.
Not only that, but the UI feels cluttered with Similar Artists and Sonically Similar Artists on top of each other. Many of the artists are duplicated, and when they aren’t, the Sonic data is superior.
We need the option to either:
- Not import Similar Artists at all.
- Turn off display of the row (I haven’t seen the option to hide it in Plex or plexamp)
- The ability to select all artists and edit that data to be empty (it failed when I tried)
