I’m curious if the Transcoding Quality and Speed settings in the Transcoder settings page take affect if one is using HW Acceleration? I haven’t been able to find any confirmation on this.
According to this page Transcoder quality does not affect hardware accelerated transcoding:
It doesn’t state whether or not Background transcoding x264 preset does. But I doubt it since x264 is a software-based H.264 encoder.
Nope. Hardware transcoding was very limited parameters that can be tweaked. It’s not like FFPMEG with a million settings. For all intended purposes, it’s more or less an on/off thing.
