Docker version failing to load python2

I have Plex running in a docker container, using the latest image from plexinc/pms-docker. I also run Watchtower, which makes sure I’m always up-to-date on new releases as they are pushed to DockerHub.

Lately I’ve been having issues with Plex, and today I noticed that Metadata Refresh has stopped working, and just flashes the magnifying glass without triggering an actual refresh. In addition, when I now go into the Server options in the web interface, it shows the message “Server settings are unavailable.”

Looking at the Plex container server log, this is what I get:

So, obviously some dependencies are now incorrect in the docker container, compared to what the latest’ish version of Plex Server requires.

I have not yet started a binary search of which release broke the docker container, but y’all (Plex devs) probably have a much better idea.

There was an issue with this version (and the beta version which quickly followed it) which caused problems such as you’re seeing. The issue was corrected in .4275 (public) and .4276 (beta). Try upgrading to the latest release available to you on your update channel and it should (hopefully) result in a fully-functional server.

Seems I should be using the plexinc/pms-docker:plexpass tag instead of latest, as the plexpass one will always download the latest, even if the docker image hasn’t been rebuilt yet.

No problem. And I actually use the “plexpass” tag for my Plex Docker and it’s always current after a “docker restart plex.”
