Recently, I downloaded a file on my Plex Android app and now everytime I open it then I see a notification “Initializing Downloads…” for roughly 5 seconds. It’s kind of annoying tbh.
Is it a bug or intentional behavior? Anyway to turn it off without altering Notifications settings on Android level?
Yes, it’s Download checking with your server to see if anything needs updating. i.e. Watched status, new episodes, etc.

I see that there are numerous options in “Settings > Notifications” inside Plex app. Anything I can check/uncheck to not display that notification?
Those are notifications from your server, so that doesn’t help.
With Downloads being new and users not knowing if it’s working or not, I think it’s good to have it. We could potentially move it out of the notifications and somewhere less conspicuous in the future.
Yes, please. Since, it’s doing kind of maintenance thing so staying silent makes sense instead of alerting users everytime. In case of error, active download, etc. notification should arrive anyway.
