Does the Plex Server run on Apple Silicon M1

At this point, I’m wondering if I need to restore my mac, not import anything, then install Plex to see if it will run.

I have the same issue. It just…doesn’t open. I was so excited to get this Mini, and it’s so fast, but the thing I use my Mac for the most is busted. :frowning:

If Plex is not running on your M1 Mac, it’s more than likely Rosetta did not load properly,. Not sure whether this will work for anyone, but my suggestion would be to install another intel app, not a universal app, one that isn’t faceless as Plex is, that if it loads, insures that Rosetta is running,

Another more potentially complicated way would be to run this cmd in Terminal.
/usr/sbin/softwareupdate --install-rosetta

You’ll probably have to sudo that, so sudo /usr/sbin/softwareupdate --install-rosetta and you’ll get prompted for your account password and you’ll be prompted to agree to the Rosetta license, then try to load an Intel based app. Download some intel app or game from somewhere if it works, and loads properly then I would think Plex would load as well…

Other things you can do to verify that Rosetta is installed as well…

run this cmd in terminal to validate if Rosetta is installed.

pkgutil --pkgs | grep Rosetta
com.apple.pkg.RosettaUpdateAuto

The second line is the output of the cmd.

Now I think its possible that you can have the package installed, but if you did not accept the license agreement you get prompted for, it may not run and you’d have to re-install it.
