I am using a VPN in my router and all traffic on my raspberry pi is behind a VPN. However, i can use domain based VPN routing and thus forcing all traffic for one domain through either my WAN or my VPN.
Now i need to know what domains to whitelist (force through WAN) for remote access to work properly. I am not saying it does not work with remote access, but this irritating notification that it does not work on the plex remote access tab is bothering me.
I have whitelisted plex.bz and plex.tv and sometimes it shows it’s working and sometimes it gives a red flag.
What more domains do i need?
Plex.direct is a local domain and it wont route through the VPN. It is added to my exclude list now just in case.
But the check mechanisms that checks what public ip i have still needs to be excluded.
I guess there are some website like whatismyip.com or similar?
No, it isn’t. It is also used for remote access and is globally valid.
Ok, it’s excluded. But i still get a red flag. This red flag is not constant, sometimes it shows a green flag. And i would like to solve this once and for all.
The remote accessibility test does not work with VPNs nor with custom access domain names.
Ok, why? It shows the correct ip but still gives this red flag. There must be some domain it checks against that gives this red flag?
It simply not implemented to support these.
Mm ok. Thank you for your assistance!
