I’ve recently been upgrading many of my media files to higher quality versions. Whenever this happens, the movie or show gets added to the “recently added” list on the home screen. I wish this didn’t happen.
It’s not as if the item is getting deleted and added again, because the watched/unwatched state isn’t reset.
How are you replacing the files? If you overwrite the old one or add the new file and then delete the old one, it should not be seen as recently added.
If you have the option enabled to automatically scan you libraries when a change is detected and you delete the old file first, then yes it will be new since you deleted the old one first.
Sonaar and Radaar are replacing the files. I believe they must delete the previous one and then write the new one. Maybe I should open an issue on those projects.
Ok, I’ll try turning that off. I think I had it on because my library is on a network share. But Sonaar/Radaar should be telling Plex when things are upgraded.
