"Don’t show unplayed badges on Movies & Shows or Discover hub items"-Option

“Don’t show unplayed badges on Movies & Shows or Discover hub items” is enabled by default now.

Is there an option in the settings to turn it off and return to the old behavior where you see the unread badge?

Thank you for your help.

Are you talking about the new green checkmark for watched items being the default instead of the old yellow badge for unwatched?

I just noticed this in the web interface and I prefer the old way. I didn’t find a setting to revert back as of right now, I hope to be able to.

In my opinion, the ideal state of a poster is that of an unblemished one. The more markers visible on a given screen, the more visual clutter.

Which is better, a marker for watched or unwatched, comes with another question: Which majority is more common? For me, it’s drastically in favor of watched media. Thanks to this change, a majority of my posters are now marked with an intrusive green checkmark.

I too would prefer an option to switch this state.

That’s why there should be a simple option in the settings. Show a badge for watched, for unwatched, or don’t show at all.

They already tried this with an old preview version of the new Modern layout, and I said the same thing.

I agree with you on the preferred state. The watched green checkmark doesn’t make much sense. Why would I want to see that on every single poster in my collection? An unwatched badge at least lets me know at a glance what content is new to me and it’s functional.

Yes, I mean the new green check mark.
Now it is like this on AppleTV, Plex for Mac and Plex Web.

@hpaar what version is the AppleTV App? I do have the orange unread marks still on Version 8.25 (6881) even after uninstalling and installing again

This was a mistake. I also have the orange unread marks in AppleTV app.
