Done with our HDHomeRun...what supported tuner do you recommend and why?

I am SO done with our HDHomeRun tuner. We’ve had Plex lifetime for a while and started using the DVR functionality 2-3 years back. It’s had its issues, but the issues have been consistently complicated by the crappiness of this tuner. It comes down to the fact that we have checked the antenna to extreme degrees (even had it worked on by a professional), but we keep losing signal for various channels. Over the last week we’ve lost 2 major channels that we’d had running for years, and no amount of rescans or deleting and re-adding the tuner help. Even going directly to the HDHomeRun software, updating the firmware, and doing a scan from there misses these major channels. However, if I plug the antenna’s coax cable directly into the TV rather than the HDHomeRun, the TV’s internal tuner easily picks up about 20 more channels, including the major networks that keep shutting down through the HDHomeRun!
So I’m thinking we need to replace the dang tuner, and I’m looking for recommendations out of the Plex supported tuners. I will ask for at least 2 tuners in the device, but other than that, I just need it to be able to read signals well and reliably. Am I shooting for the moon here?

Probably not the case for you as it’s been looked at by professional, but might help others with similar issues looking at this thread.

I was getting break up on lots of my channels using HD Homerun tuner, when the same aerial would work flawlessly with my tv plugged in directly or using a Hauppauge tv card. Turned out the HD home run tuners are very sensitive to having too strong a tv signal so I had to use a attenuator to reduce the signal and now reception is rock solid. So after weeks messing around trying to improve the signal it turned out I actually needed to reduce it.

I had to put the attenuator after splitting it off to my Sony tv otherwise the reduced signal strength required for the HD Homerun tuner made the Sony TV picture break up.
