Don't optimize - already optimized files

Server Version#: 1.32.3.7192

I’ve just started to use the optimize feature to help speed up download times when syncing my iPad - transcoding my 4K files takes a little bit of time.

To set up the files for optimization - I’m using the filters to specify the shows to optimize i.e)

  • unwatched shows, aired in the last 90 days, sorted by date last played, with the tag optimize

I sometimes have other optimization jobs as well with slightly different filters, however I noticed that Plex will optimize the episodes again, I have the optimize settings set to Custom, iOS, 8Mbps. Is there a way to avoid optimizing the files twice ? Shouldn’t it skip optimization if a file/version matching iOS 8Mbps already exists?

Also another question – is there a way to limit optimization to only optimize x episodes per show i.e) in the filter above it will return maybe a list of 10 shows, but each show will have maybe 15 unwatched episodes – i would like to have maybe the next 5 episodes optimized of each of the 10 shows instead…is there a way to do that?
