It happens very often that an Plex reports that an episode has 2 files even though there is only one file. Shouldn’t it be super easy for PMS to filter out duplicates when it sees they have the exact same path/filename?
I’m having the same issue. It was fine until this morning. I have a brand new server (6Big LaCie). I’ve checked the path and naming conventions and they’re identical. I have no idea what else to do. I’ve read about the “collections” but as far as I can tell, I don’t have collections activated. Sorry if I’m stupid.
Can you show us a screen shot of what you are describing showing duplicate entries for identical paths (although in my case show these are two resolutions of the movie and have unique names - just trying to give an example) something like:
I always fix the duplicate entries manually by removing and re-adding the file manually, so I don’t have a screenshot right now. But it’s the same as your screenshot, but with 100% identical paths.
I’m having the same issue as well. Here’s a screenshot of a TV show. I currently have about 10 different shows showing 2 files when there’s only one file in the folder.
I’m not sure how permissions can cause this on some of my shows. I haven’t touch any of my permission settings. This only seems to happen sometimes, and the only way to fix it is to move the video file out of the directory, wait for Plex to realize it’s no longer there and then move it back. I’m not sure which version of PMS introduced this issue, but it only started recently, so it probably started in the last two or so updates.
