I just got Plexamp Headless set up on a RPI 4 with a hifiberry digi hat and it’s such an excellent experience.
This is minor but I was just wondering if it is possible to download files to the raspberry pi like I would to my phone or computer for playback in case of internet issues. I have quite a bit of space on the SD card and the wifi is not always fast enough for some of my lossless files to playback smoothly.
Loving the headless plexamp experience, thank you!
for headless there’s no offline/download option … you can increase the cache size, but this wouldn’t help with initial playback (only with repeat plays of already-cached tracks)
if you experience occasional stuttering soon after starting playback, trying to improve the network connection might be your best bet … if stuttering happens at random times later, you might experiment with the Network Speed setting under Advanced > Caching
Makes sense! Would be nice if it is relatively easy to implement. Even just conceptually I love the idea of my tiny jukebox having the music downloaded and ready to go.
