Download button for Podcasts disappeared on iOS/iPhone

At some point in the last couple of weeks, the button to download podcasts on the iOS app disappeared for me. I can see it on my Android device, but the corresponding button doesn’t exist on my iPhone. I don’t see a way to add screenshots to this post, but I’m talking about the down arrow button that’s to the right of the ‘Play’ button on either the Podcast show screen (to download all episodes) or on the episode screen (to download just that episode).

I do see that when I start to play an episode, then on the player screen I can click on the three dots in the bottom left and there is a ‘download’ menu item; however, clicking on it doesn’t seem to do anything, as no items show up in my ‘downloads & sync’ area afterward on the main menu.

Any ideas what is going on here and how I can troubleshoot it?

I second this, however, I don’t even get the option to download when playing the podcast.

Same deal here, no option to download. This is despite the documentation. Anything official on this?

I just updated to 7.17 and can get the download to appear, but only if I start playing the podcast- just like OP stated. I have not tested to see if it actually works. Yesterday on 7.16 I couldn’t even get that.

It seems that iOS podcasts download is broken. Would love for Plex to fix this.

EDIT- the hitting download in the manner described above does not actually download the podcast.

I am having the same issue in iOS 7.17.
