I was chatting with a friend tonight and he we shared our two servers. I’m curious why there isn’t an option to download things I want to watch so I don’t have to stream?
My thought is if I’m on some media on their server, to be able to click a download or cache button to temporarily cache it locally. When I mark it as finished it would delete the cache.
I know I can download locally when I’m on Android, but that doesn’t help me if I want to watch it on my TV at home. This just seems like it would make for a smoother experience between shared servers.
There’s already an existing suggestion thread discussing an option to sync selected content from shared libraries across servers. Please comment/vote in that thread in order to help us avoid distracting or cannibalizing votes.
Unless I’m missing some unique aspect of your suggestion I’ll close this thread as a duplicate.
