general / feature suggestion (I guess)
So I’ve been wondering for a while now if there was any way to simultaneously download metadata in two languages and then display it depending on the client language.
My specific use scenario is that I run a Plex server at home where I share it with my family.
I am fluent in English and all my software and operating systems are therefore in English, though out of consideration for my family I download all the shows and movies I serve on the server with both an English and a German audio track.
They usually use German interfaces on e.g. our TV, but they always complain that the descriptions and the titles of shows and movies are in English.
Unfortunately not.
You would have to create another library in the second language for your family.
Ex.
LIBRARY#1
Name of Library: Movies (Eng)
Language of Library: English
Folder Path of Library: /Plex/Movies
LIBRARY#2
Name of Library: Movies (Ger)
Language of Library: German
Folder Path of Library: /Plex/Movies
As you can see, both libraries will point to the same folder so both will be identical in content.
The biggest disadvantage by doing this is of course this will double up on the metadata needed to be stored on your server.
Okay I will try that. Kinda unfortunate.
