Download Show / Season option Missing in iOS

I’m looking to sync some shows to my iPad before a trip but now the Download option is missing for Shows and Seasons. Was this feature just removed in the “New Experience”?

Option to download is available for seasons.

I do see that now.

But no longer can I select a show and request the next X unwatched episodes which is exceedingly handy for frequent traveling. Having to either have a copy of a full season or manually download individual episodes is definitely an experience regression in comparison to the previous client experience.

These are the key features of downloads that are currently missing from the product, and were in the old version (no confirmation that Plex will bring them back as yet):

  • No ability to auto download X shows
  • Only a flat view of downloaded files, no ability to show in a normal show/season/episode way
  • Issues with transcode with Android platforms when downloading

Features that I’d also love to see Plex develop for downloads:

  • Ability to auto delete downloaded files XX hours after watched
  • Ability to see if an episode is already downloaded at the season or episode level without having to download and get the “Download already exists”
  • Ability to rapidly delete multiple downloaded shows with a few taps, right now show by show is ridiculously annoying
  • Ability to add Downloads as a bottom button navigation

Now to be fair to Plex, the new Download capability is improved overall on iOS for me with the most recent releases, it’s a shame this has taken 8 years from sync to download to new experience download. For example:

  • Download speeds are where they show be, this has been a long standing annoyance with Plex
  • Downloads are more reliable for me
