Like others downloading is painfully slow, and gets worse if you’ve got more things in a queue and I’m not even bothering to download a TV season - they never seem to finish…
So I thought I’d attempt to optimize first and then download.
Optimize set to 8mbps, 1080p.
Once its finished optimizing I’ve then set iPads Download to; Video 8mbps, 1080p, Audio - original, Format - original (all files are MKV)
Why does Plex still show its Transcoding Media ?
Why I am doing this ? To avoid Plex transcoding media multiple times if different devices download the same thing. Some of my movies at 4k or higher spec 1080p so I thought to optimize them upfront and the each iPad can download the pre-optimised version.
What am I missing here ? Or is there a better way to achieve what I want (without creating multiple libraries with lower res versions only to use as a download location)
