i read in https://support.plex.tv/articles/download-android/ that downloaded content can be deleted from the Items screen. However, my Items screens shows no downloaded content (screenshot attached) even though there is downloaded content (screenshot attached).
it would be nice to have the option to delete downloaded content if needed.
If you don’t see items under the Downloads section, then they aren’t Downloaded. Did you grab these before with the old Sync feature. Downloads will not see these. There should be a separate “Legacy” section with those. You can delete from there.
Thanks for the reply.
I just downloaded them last week (or the one before) so they aren’t Sync legacy.; there is no other section.
The albums in the library appear with a downloaded downward arrown sign, as opposed to albums without the sign.
I listened to the music inside a plane while the phone was on airplane mode. How could they be not downloaded, would I have been able to connect to the server in such conditions?
If you see the arrow indicator that means they were Downloaded or in the process of being downloaded. These should appear in the Items tab. How did you get to the music while in airplane mode?
i don’t know, as i said, the artitsts and albums do appear in respective the downloaded library.
plex android → downloads → libraries → music → artist → album → play
and this is how i listened ot music on an airplane while phone in airplane mode.
as mentioned above, in the downloaded library i do see all the different artists (screen shot was attached), and when i select them i hear the music play correctly.
but they do not appear in the ‘Items’ screen though.
i turned off the server on the computer, and then i played songs from the downloaded library on the phone. phone and computer not on same network. so songs were playing correctly while server was off.
afterwards i turned the server back on, and i went into the downloads section on the phone, going from Items to Library, playing a song, and then going back to articles again. repeated the process a few times as indicated.
i was only able to download these logs: are they the correct ones?
Sorry, lost track. There isn’t anything in your logs that stand out. It sees there is ~16GB of Downloaded data. There are no errors when requesting that information. I’m not sure why it doesn’t list. The only thing I can think is a rendering issue with the list of items so the page doesn’t know how to present them.
You could try deleting all Downloads (or clear app data) to start over. Then Download the items again 1 at a time and see if 1 of them causes the page to break.
thanks for the detailed explanation.
i dont know exactly what rendering is, but i think i understand the concept based on your sentence.
as mentioned before, the music sounds fine and the libraries do show all downloaded content. that is why, deleting all and downloading it again, based on all the issues which downloading to an sd card in android presents today, it seems like too much of a long task at this moment. surely whenever downloads work as intended, it will be time to re-do.
