This is in regard to a self induced BUG created by the Plex team.
My users are unable to download from my server. Because of some draconian joke, that they must ALSO have a Plex Pass.
Why do y’all do things like this. You push out pre-alpha broken apps on every platform, you screw you Plex pass owners with things like this…
Do you actually expect people to continue to put up with your bull? Y’all need a management change or something.
Plex Documentation → Downloads for Offline Use
The prerequisites for downloading have not changed in several years.
Downloads Overview
You tagged this post with Plex Web, Android TV, Roku, and Smart TV. None of those platforms support downloading. Only the mobile and desktop applications support downloading.
Downloads FAQ
- If the client is in your Plex Home, the client does not require a Plex Pass.
- If both the client account and server owner account were created before August 1, 2022, the client does not require a Plex Pass.
- If neither of the above is true, the client requires a Plex Pass.
Thanks for the reply!
But the gaslighting is not necessary, thank you.
The bug persists.
I have no ill will towards those who help others on the forums.
To clarify, my post is simply a stupid shout into the void about one of the many things I would consider regression over the years, even if said regression was implemented by management.
