Downloading specific version of media to iPad

Server Version#: 1.26.2.5797
Player Version#: 8.4

Can someone tell me if this can be done/has been fixed since the last time I tried to make this work and gave up.

Let’s say I have multiple versions of the same movie or TV show in my library. A 4K version, 1080p and 720p.

I want to download one of these versions to Plex on my iPad. Is there a way to select a specific version? Say I only want the 1080p or 720p version.

Thanks

There still isn’t a way to specifically pick a version to download. However, if you set your download quality to better match the version you want, it should trigger PMS to download that version instead of transcoding a higher version.

i.e. if your 1080p is 20 Mbps and the 720p is 10 Mbps, setting the download to 12 Mbps should end up downloading the 720p version.

You can test this by first setting the regular quality setting and playing a file. If the version you want plays as direct play, then the Download should work with the same Download quality setting.
