If this is already posted sorry. I searched and did not see it.
In Plex if a movie you does not have subtitles you cannot download them. With Boxee and XBMC there are ways built in to download them. It would be great if Plax had this. It could be placed where it shows if the movie has subtitles. There could be a pull down menu with language selections.
Even more, it should be on the pre-play screen, letting you know that there is no subtitle and let you try to download some if they exist.
My main issue with Plex and the subtitles is that you can't access them easily and thus it is impossible to modify them or change them to the correct ones unless you do all the job yourself, downloading and adding them beside your medias. Even then though, Plex will have its own subs plus the ones you added while you only need one version per language normally and you can't delete the ones Plex downloaded by itself.
+1 The plex has a wonderful server system, but in terms of client is very weak ... subtitles missing in the channels, lack of integration with subtitles sites like opensubtitle ...
It would be great if we could also use local client and addons were more customizable, nowadays only use xbmc because these features do not exist in plex, a feeling that passes the plex is closed for the future ...
While xbmc has thousands of plugins plex remains with the few plugins .. Especially for those who do not speak English ...
Maybe if the Plex enables addons xbmc plex software on client, not the server, the client direct ...
Already use this. We need subtitle download manager from within the client like XBMC have. If the subtitle doesn't match, simply chose from a list and try again. THIS is much needed!
Exactly, downloading subtitles from within Plex clients, like the Infuse 2 iOS app by Firecore.
I enabled this and it works pretty good. So far I have to view the movie on my Plex server on my Windows 8 computer then the subtitles upload and am able to view the movie on my other devices.
I'm working on improving the opensubtitles plugin to have more accurate subs. And you can use Plex Tools in the unsuported plugins (search forum, wiki or github) to be able to choose thru a plugin a particular subtitle.
