I have updated to the latest Plex server and app available. Upon doing so my tv series no longer auto update and download to watch offline or at times I want to skip using cellular service. I can manually download one show at a a time but then i got to delete it off the phone.
The newest version of the app on my phone (Samsung S24 Ultra) i updated it today and it was supposedly suppose to fix said issue. I’m here to say it does not. If i watch a episode i downloaded my watch state doesn’t show it played, I have to manually show next episode as watched.
I tried to go back to the main page of the show and try to download next 10 unwatched items and tell it to deleted upon refresh like the old app did and no luck. Now my only option is to go to one season at a time and download. No option to delete automatically after watching like the old version did.
Can you please get someone on this and roll back the software to get back these features. I’d rather have the old app look with its features rather than this new look with less features that aren’t working.
Im comoletely lost woth this new setup. On your android phone…how do you even setup a download criteris (this show, 5 unplayed, delete after a day)? And where do i see the new downloads??
Its really bad. There’s no longer a criteria to set to download new 5-10 unwatched and then delete on refresh. The latest update on the android app now only lets you download an entire season and then you have to manually delete a episode after you view it.
Then to even get to the shows you downloaded you have to hit your profile name in the top right corner of the app go to downloads and watch them from there.
Again another flaw is even if you have the show downloaded onto your phone and you try to play it, it will not play the downloaded version. It will try to stream directly from your server and if you have a weak connection like i do for most the day you streaming in low quality with buffering vs the 1080p copy you downloaded and is just sitting on your phone. Whatever dev messed this up I hope he fixes it asap. or again like i said roll back the app to where everything worked as it should.
This is worse than when we went from Syncing which was awesome to download which was horrible at the beginning, but became usable after enough complaints were filed.
Holy hell. Im messing with it. So when you have shows, it isnt organized eith artwork andnsuch…its just a hodge-podge mess of a list of everytbing you have downloaded? ZERO orginization??? Who the f’ authorized this???
This is still not the answer to the question that was placed. I’ve done all that. i just want Plex to auto download ,watch downloaded first , delete after watching, replace after deleted, & so forth.

This continues to be a problem. I am really unhappy with the updates they have made to the app. I wish I could easily go back to an older version. Honestly, I could deal with being forced to go to “downloads” to watch the downloaded version, because at least that worked. Mostly commenting to keep this topic open as it’s still not resolved.
