So I have recently (past week) started running into an issue. I download a lot of TV shows to my ipad and all are set as "download last x unwatched). If I watch on the ipad the information gets to plex just fine. If I watch a show on my apple TV with the plex app then the TV show tab shows it as watched but the data doesn’t get sent to downloads. I have to manually mark the show as watched on downloads and halfway watching a show outside of ipad and wanting to finish it on ipad isn’t possible at all.
Something in the syncing of watched data from main Plex to downloads isn’t working right now.
I’ve had a similar issue with downloaded shows. If I watch it on either device then the status is synced. However, once an episode is watched it isn’t then being deleted from the device and the next episode downloaded. This is with Android.
Just encountered another weird issue today when I added another show to downloads. Even though I specified “next 3 unwatched episodes” it downloaded the last 3 episodes in the season. I’m only up to episode 3 out of 10.
Have tried clearing out the data and cache for the Plex app on my mobile.
This should be fixed in v1.40.4 of PMS. The issue was that downloaded episodes were not being marked as watched even though they were watched on your server.

Are you certain you didn’t select “3 latest episodes” instead of “Next 3 unwatched episodes”? I have made that mistake before. It seems to be working correctly for me
