Dreaded error 4294967283

Server Version#: 1.18.6.2350 (WD MyCloud)
Player Version#: 1.33.0.2444-a220eae4

Getting the error 4294967283 which I’ve seen come up a bunch in these forums with no answer from Plex (or fix - other than eventually it might right itself). Can’t play anything on Plex via apps (any Mac, JVC & Panasonic TV’s, Xbox app) but can play on phone or web browser. Have disabled and re-enabled Plex on WD MyCloud and reset several times to no effect - been going on for 1-2 weeks so far without being able to watch anything.

Foy anyone who checks this out in the future - it just started working again on all Players after about three weeks without any action.

Like everyone who’s ever had this issue and posted about it - a huge thanks to Plex for never providing any assistance or fix to this error code that’s been plaguing users for years.

So figured out this issue. You have to make sure that the plex.app isn’t in a read-only folder. Meaning when the updater tries to change the files it can not because most likely …like myself you opened it from the download folder. So move it to a different directory and restart the computer make sure plex is closed and then when you open it the updater will be able to update properly and bam should work. Hope that helps guys
