I have a removable drive that the contents are in Plex. The drive goes offline a lot. Each time it gets connected again the contents replaces the existing contents removing my changes and shows all videos as new.
Is there anyway to stop Plex as treating this as a new drive?
You should probably look in your Windows settings to make sure the drive is linked to a dedicated drive letter – and not getting a different one each time.
If you’re experiencing this a lot, make sure to disable Settings > [Server Name] > Library > Empty trash automatically after every scan. This will prevent Plex from removing record if it can no longer find the file during an automatic scan.
I made the change you suggested about trash and now waiting for drive to lose connection. Will post result. Thanks
